Today's hormone levels after weaning off Estrace and 1 Endometrin:

Estrogen: 892 (down from 1442)
Progesterone: 12.42 (down from 17.14)

Removing the Estrace was a huge drop in the amount of supplemental estrogen I was getting. So I'm relieved to see my estrogen still at a decent level.

My progesterone dropped as well, but it's still at a good level and a tad higher than many of my previous levels.

CCRM wants me to stay on my current doses. They want to give my placenta time to re-adjust. I'm to go back Wed for ANOTHER blood draw... my poor veins.

Symptoms:

This week I have a new unpleasant symptom. I guess it's labeled metallic after taste, but I think mine is a little different. If you've ever had to take Prednisone, it leaves a horrible medicine after taste. I'm not on Prednisone, but for some reason all my food/drink, even water, leaves a Prednisone-like after taste. I've had it for the last 4 days. Finally, for the first time ever, I feel free to eat as much as I want without the guilt, ya know, because I have 2 stomachs these days! LOL I'm really hoping it goes away in time to enjoy a nice Thanksgiving dinner.

Other than that, just still incredibly exhausted and having occasional uterine achiness. All good signs!

  1. Hi Jill! I recently found your blog and am enjoying your updates. I just got my BFP after 2 1/2 years of trying that included a vasectomy reversal, uterine polyps, ovarian cyst, endometriosis, 4 IUIs and 2 rounds of IVF. I am thrilled to hear your story after your having been through so much. Good luck and it's nice to meet you!

  2. Hi Jill - good to hear that things are going well. Eat, eat, eat ( and enjoy!). I put on about 18 pounds in the first 20 weeks but thankfully weight gain has now slowed down. Time is flying by and your baby is getting bigger each day. When is the next u/s?

  3. Glad that the hormones are looking decent!

Sorry about the prednisone after taste! I HATE that taste! I would always keep candy or something to pop in my mouth right after my prednisone dose!

    Good luck with everything!

  4. It took me a super long time to wean off of the meds too. At one point, they gave me a week because my poor veins were suffering! Everything sounds great though! I can believe you are already almost 10 weeks! how freaking exciting is that? just a few more weeks to trimester two!

  5. Yay! Seven is cruising along, you are doing so well. Weird symptom, is that a common pregger symptom, or a "just you" thing?

  6. Hi...
My friend, Linda had that metal taste in her mouth after chemo. She ate with a plastic spoon which seemed to help her. Just a suggestion.

I am still hoping to get home so we can be together for Thanksgiving. Sitting here in Miami...grrrr...Love you all so much.

I think your pregnancy is going so well...and can't wait for my birthday this year!

Love you as big as the sky,

    Mama

  7. Now that's a sucky pregnancy symptom!!!! I agree, just when you're free to eat what you want, you get a funky flavor that goes along with it?!? Not fair. Maybe your mom's suggestion will help. :0)~
I am praying that your levels will continue to rise on their own and you can be rid of the meds sooner rather than later... I know you're doing everything you can for little Seven, so just keep pushing through.
In case I don't get to see your blog before Thursday,
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU, KERRY & SEVEN!!! You will be extra thankful this year, and next year, you'll be holding your little one while feasting on all the trimmings! YEAH!!!
    Love to you,
    The Other Jill
