As the new year arrived, I found myself reflecting over the last year, the good, the bad and the in between. I made a few new year resolutions, some the same I made last year and the year before, you know the ones you never manage to follow through with. This will be our 4th January we’ve said “this will be the year of our miracle baby”. I’ve tried so hard to follow through with this one, but once again, I failed.I finally fulfilled my 4 year running New Year's resolution!!! It may have taken me awhile, but I persevered. I'm feeling very blessed in 2010 and look forward to what this year will bring forth.
Speaking of being blessed, I ran into the following post on Kerry's blog:
The gift of life!I know I may be partial, but in my eyes, I am blessed with the best hubby ever!
Well, I hope you all had a great Christmas. I thought it very fitting to take this opportunity on Christmas night to tell you about the best gift that I received this year. It was to wake up on Christmas morning and see my beautiful wife 14 weeks and 2 days pregnant. After 4 years of a fertility journey that I wouldn’t wish on anyone, we found out on October 19th that she was finally pregnant. Week after week we’ve had ultrasounds and confirmations that everything is going great. So we thank God this Christmas for the little answer to prayer that is growing in her womb. I encourage you to never give up on the things that you are believing for. We should find out on January 5th if it’s a boy or girl. The suspicions from previous ultrasound clues are leaning towards a boy. As you might imagine, we will be thrilled with either. I’ll keep you posted. Have a great weekend and be safe this Holiday season.
You may remember from my last post that Kerry bought me some "boy short" maternity underwear because he was concerned that my current undies were getting too tight on baby. Here's the maternity undies after washing and drying them. They now look like "toddler short" underwear. I held them up to Kerry and said, you think these will be less restrictive?? He looked at me puzzled and said, are those the ones I bought you???
I received a surprise gift in the mail. It was a mom-to-be Christmas ornament. I love that the pg angel is holding a bucket of ice cream and a jar of pickles! Thank you Jean, Betty, Sheree, Rachel and Lyndsay!!!
For New Year's Eve we went to dinner with a few friends.
As soon as I took my coat off at the restaurant, the friend next to me, who last saw me 3 weeks ago, looked at my belly and exclaimed; girl, are you sure you don't have twins in there?? I just laughed. I'm quite shocked myself at how fast my belly is growing. I think baby is going to have daddy's height!
We then returned home for a quiet evening alone. We watched the countdown on tv and then crashed. Happy New Year everyone! May you all have a very blessed and prosperous 2010.
Kerry and Jill
ReplyDeleteI have to tell you I cried as I read this today. I miss you both so very much and wish I could spend even just an hour with you right now.
I can't wait to meet my new little niece or nephew this summer.
So just know that we love you very much and are so very happy that 2009 was the year of the miracle for you and all our family.
Glad you like the angel, and I'm anxiously awaiting the ultrasound results. Notice I said niece first. :) But I'll take either with joy.
Can't wait to shop in Hawaii for Seven next month. Phyllis and I will have fun.
Love you
Sis
Happy New Year! You're looking so happy and pregnant - so glad you're celebrating 15+ weeks of goodness at this point! May it continue for another 20+ before bringing you your long-awaited baby.
ReplyDeleteSomehow I'm thinking boy too, but will eagerly await next week's U/S verdict.
Yay for little Seven, your very own miracle!
I cried too!
ReplyDeleteMy gosh, I didn't realize your u/s was for the 5th. there's another connection, cause its exactly 3 months since transfer and Brady will be 3 months too! I so hope that we might be together on our birthday, was wanting to do Brady's dedication that day.
lol, we crashed too after the ball dropped, you'll probably do the same next year, and the next but with little seven in tow.
Love you and miss you.
Lyndsay, Brian, Chase, and Brady
You are right about having the best hubby ever.....he is sooooo good to you....don't EVER take that for granted....it's RARE:-) That was very sweet of him to post that by the way.
ReplyDeleteGlad you guys had a good New Year's Eve and you are right.....this will be the best blessing you'll ever receive this coming year....just wait!
I hope they get a good birds eye view of that baby crotch...LOL...I'm still saying GIRL...and I'm sticking to it!
love you!
The toddler short undies cracked me up! Happy New Year!!!
ReplyDeleteOMG JILL!!!!! It's AmyJo from Michigan (VR Board)and I just cannot tell you how freaking ECSTATIC I am for you!!! OMG, I am just thrilled for you guys. What a journey. You look amazing and happy and wondefully pregnant!!!! Congrats to you...I'm so happy for you!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou look great, Jill! So glad you were able to accomplish that New Year's resolution.
ReplyDeleteHi Jill - it's great to hear from you. The Christmas ornament is beautiful. Your NYE looks like a lot of fun! So glad to hear that things are going well for you. x
ReplyDeleteOh Jill...Happy New Years! Kerry's post made me cry. I am so thankful that you have this little baby in your belly. May 2010 be filled with magic and wonder as you see your New Years rssolution come to life, literally!:)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you too! 2010 will be great for you - you both look great and happy. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteWow you made it to midnight? We decided to celebrate new year's on London UK time instead of on EST and that was the only way I made it to "midnight"!! You cracked me up with the underwear picture - although I do have some boy short maternity undies that look nothing like those ones that are very comfy...try Motherhood Maternity. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteYou guys look great! I had to laugh at the pic of the maternity undies...I had the opposite experience. I bought Bravado bikini ones (they have an amazing maternity/nursing soft bra that I LIVE in) and they are HUGE, lol. But, I guess they are comfy. I thought I'd be a lot less comfortable by now so was stocking up on stuff to make me comfy...but it was really cute of Kerry to think of you your comfort that way:-)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for your post today!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Other Jill
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, Jill!
ReplyDeleteEverything about this post mad me smile. =)
And will we get to find out what equipment your little babe is sporting today?
