Three Weeks Down!

Not much to report as I'm just stuck in a holding pattern. I could receive my CGH results in as early as 1 week or as long as 5 weeks. This is my last week before my cell phone and I become one, so I will thoroughly enjoy this week.

In other random news....

I received my grades for my last class:

Assignment 1: 91%
Assignment 2: 97%
Assignment 3: 92%
Programming Assignment: 100%
Final Exam: 95%!!!!!! (Ha! I was worried I failed!)
Final Grade: A

I requested my transcript to see where I'm at on my GPA as I've been taking classes here and there for the last 10 years. HO-LEE-COW, I have a 4.0!!!! Wow, I feel so smart! Well, more like I'm just a really hard worker who puts everything I got into whatever I'm going after. It was not easy by any means. Next class is Theory of Computation, ughhhhh, vomit! I think I'll be taking another long break.

I'm very happy to report that I'm past my Chef Boyardee phase. Thanks for all the disgustment, it brought a much needed reality check of how bad that stuff is! I haven't given up the Ben & Jerry's, but I've dumped all other junk. Now I need to get into an exercise program to lose all this comfort food weight. I tell Kerry I'm just gently stretching my belly preparing for baby, it helps reduce stretch marks ya know! ;-) I don't know what Kerry's excuse is for his growing belly! His 93 yr old grandmother pointed at his roll and said "now you're too young to be building a shed over your tool". She is hilarious!

Back in January, I put $4000 in a FSA (flexible spending account) that allows me to use tax free money to pay for medical expenses. I filled out a claim form and was going to submit my latest IVF cycle for reimbursement, well at least a fraction of it. I realized I only had a plain receipt from CCRM that doesn't state what it's for nor has my name on it. So I contacted the business office and requested an invoice for my last cycle. She instead sent me a 4 page receipt of every item I have ever paid CCRM/FLC. The grand total was $37,975. This includes the one-day workup and 2 IVF cycles. It does not include travel or meds. Can I get another HO-LEE-COW??? I just bought Schoolie a very nice car. Our grand total out of pocket is $89,409. OMG, I will just die if this doesn't result in a baby!

  1. Congrats on the great grades! I'd take a break too!

I know the wait takes forever - especially after the second week! I hope the results come soon and you can be planning your FET. I agree that it really is amazing the amount of money we spend on this stuff and it just adds stress to this whole process. I mean, we stress ourselves out b/c of the emotional parts of this and then stress on top of it b/c of the financial aspects...it is nuts.

By the way, I'm still giggling about Kerry's grandmother's comment...she must be a funny, sharp lady!

  2. Wouldn't it be nice if hard work and money got you a baby too? Can we get a B-R-E-A-K for you?!!

The shed over the tool comment (baahaahaa!!) - she should do standup comedy!

  4. Congrats on the grades! No need to give up Ben & Jerry's...I took the Ben & Jerry's factory tour a couple of summers ago and they are very environmentally conscious...so think of your B&J addiction as doing your part to save the earth ;-).

  5. Awesome job on the "A" and the 4.0, smarty pants!!!

I too agree the "shed over the tool" thing is priceless:-)

OMG....was that $89K JUST for CCRM or does it include all 4 cycles you've done??

  6. Wow, you're a smart one! Congratulations on your unbelievable grades. Now let's get the same grades back from CCRM, shall we??? I'm guessing the end of next week for you.

Erm, I purposely gained about 6 lbs before my transfer so I would be more soft and cuddly for the embryos. Glad I did, since I've lost it all down the toilet in the last month. So I think gaining a bit before transfer is a great idea - worked for me.

Yep, that is a shed-load of cash. It's crazy what we need to do where others just have sex and bingo. BUT: it will be worth it!

  7. Well nothing that comes out of my grandmother's mouth surprises me anymore. I would have just liked to have seen Kerry's face. LOL

Congrats on the grades. Guess we're still just going round in circles on this little kiddie coaster. That's okay, just give me a bit of a warning before we jump on the other one.
Oh and I'm proud of you for not giving up the Ben and Jerry's. Don't know how you stomached the Chef Boy R Dee to start with. Blah.

    Love ya

  8. What to go with your class and GPA! That is awesome. I think you deserve a break to before the next one that still sounds Greek.
Try and have fun this week before you and your cell phone are inseperable. Love you, can't wait to hear more.

  9. Well, look at you, smartie pants!! :0) Congrats on the great grades and GPA! A much needed break is definitely in order.

Hoping you get news soon... and that the Publisher's Clearing House pulls up in your drive soon. Wowie--that's a lot of cash. Guess your kiddo's college fund is already gone. Hello, student loans! :0) (I can say that since I'm still paying on mine 10 years later!)

    Have a great weekend!
