Tyler: Week 47

May 11-May 17, 2011 (46w-46w6d old)

Tyler Update:

  • Walking... that's all he wants to do.  Around and around the kitchen island with a loud pitter patter on the hardwoods.  Sometimes he assumes a wide squat position, lifts his knees high and stomps as if he's saying "hear me walk!"  I was a little concerned about his super wide stance, but upon a little research, it appears it's normal for early walkers, is used for balance and will resolve itself.  So I'm not going to worry about it, for now I think it's cute.  He's not falling much anymore, thank God!

Video:  Tyler walking (really wide) around and around the kitchen

  • He's not doing so well when I leave him in the church nursery.  He's that child that cries hysterically for his parents.  When I serve in the nursery, he demands my attention and does not like to share his mama.  If I'm consoling another baby, he hangs onto my legs and cries for me.  I'm hoping this is just a phase.

  • He loves looking out the window.

  • He steals my mouse.

  • He loves opening and closing everything, especially closet and cabinet doors.  Cabinet locks are on their way!

  • Electrical outlets are really cool!  Plugs are going in!

  • He's a tosser.  These photos were all taken within 5 mins.

  1. Awwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!! He made me dizzy walking around the kitchen island-lol! Maybe he's going to be a race car driver going around the track OR a runner going around the course OR an astronaut going around the world! It's so funny he's on the move awake and asleep-he just can't waste a moment of his life resting, I guess! Thanks for sharing-he's so adorable! Love you all-Aunt Kook

  2. My belly hurts from laughing at the little man walking around and around. I love the noise he makes when he laps the kitty :))

  3. How funny.......I wonder if it makes him dizzy and that's why he walks in circles???

He will go through probably several more bouts of separation anxiety in his young life......completely normal. It's heartbreaking but usually short-lived:)

Is he sleeping back in bed with you guys again then? Cameron is a horribly bad tosser/turner....Brayden used to be too but they seem to get better the older they get:)

  5. Such a big boy!! It's so fun to see his progress!!

So, I'm curious if you're considering weaning? Or if he's still as interested in nursing as he has been? I ask because Colton seems to be going through a distracted phase... I don't know if we'll make it to 12 months or not. I need tips on this topic!!

CAN'T WAIT TO SEE BIRTHDAY PICS SOON!!! Wow, that went fast!!!!

    Love,
    The Other Jill

  6. As usual, the videos are great, he has got the funniest walk! ;-))
I was going to ask you too about the nursing as well. My George is soooo distracted, I need him either tired or sleepy to nurse properly.
Teething is awful, can't hate it more.
And MY GOD, ONE YEAR!!! Jeez, time flies...
