Tyler: Week 45

Wowser I'm behind on this blog!  I used to think life was busy with dual careers and raising an infant.  HA, I didn't know the meaning of busy until my infant toddler started walking.  There is not enough time in the day, plain and simple.  I'm behind on everything.  I do not know how dual career families get anything done with multiple children.

About this blog, I can't seem to keep it up to date for the life of me.  I promised myself I would blog his weekly updates at least until he hits a year old as this is his electronic baby book.  After he turns one,  I'm not sure what I'll do... I may update but less frequently, or I may shut down.  Dear readers, are you still out there?

Well onto the update:

April 27-May 3, 2011 (44w-44w6d old)

Tyler Update:

I'll keep this short since I'm so far behind.  In a nutshell, he's all over the place and into everything.  He no longer wants to be in our living room his romper room full of toys.  He wants to be anywhere he's not allowed, the more restricted, the more appealing.  It's so much fun watching what interests him, unfortunately it's usually something he shouldn't be playing with.  Baby proofing has become a part time job.

This week in photos:

Caught trying to break out of romper room jail.

Hi Mama, I was just making sure my gate was nice and secure!

Let me out of here!!!

Threatening to call CPS on me for keeping him in romper room jail.

We tried giving him a bath in the big tub, not such a good idear!  The first thing he did was turn on the faucet.  Back to his duck tub.

It was a nice sunny day so I thought I would get a few outdoor pics of Tyler in the flowers weeds.  A few minutes into it, Kerry came running out yelling "pick him up, pick him up, I just sprayed this area with weed killer!".  I panicked, scooped him up and ran him straight to the tub and scrubbed him down.  Luckily he never stuck his hands in his mouth.  He was fine, but talk about scaring the living daylights out of Mama!  Now I'm paranoid sitting him in any grass.

Tyler LOVES wearing glasses!

Wearing Grammy's glasses and hair, oh and a little avocado too!

I think I have one of the funniest husbands, never a dull moment around here.  I asked him to take Tyler to the potty and next thing I know he's giving Tyler a magic floating potty ride around the house.  To top it off he had the extra toilet seat cover on his head!  Tyler thought he was so cool wearing that "hat".  This kid loves hats and glasses, and my comb.

This week in video:

Video:  He's still not saying any words beyond mama, but he's full of noises and funny faces.

Video:  Daddy's way of burning off some of that energy.

Video:  Tyler blowing farts on Mama's flabby belly.  This is one of Tyler's favorite things to do.  He's been doing this for a long time, but I just now captured it on video.  He's a little territorial, he headbutts Kerry anytime he gets in the way.  The video is pretty dark as it was shot in dim lighting.

  1. Would hate to see you close down for good!! Maybe at least go for monthly if weekly is too much. (-;

As always Mr. T is adorable and looks like such a little ham.

  2. Hi Jill,

Please keep blogging! I've followed along for months-- found you when I was considering CCRM, and your story really helped me/gave me hope when we had 4 blasts being tested, when we had one normal to transfer, when I had MTHFR, etc etc. Tyler is 3 mos older than my DD, and I feel like I'm learning from you each week. :-)

  4. Hi Jill!

Oh please don't stop blogging! I stumbled across your blog when I was 6-weeks pregnant and looking for belly shots. :-) We also had severe MFI with under 1 million sperm and both kinds of antibodies, and I have LPD, so getting pg after 3 years ttc, 4 IUI's, and 3 IVF's was a miracle. Our son was the only surviving embryo and he's just 5 months behind Tyler. Reading you go through all the same fears and joys with your pg and now reading about all the milestones you are experiencing has been amazing. I actually go back and read the comparable week to our son to see what Tyler was going through at the time. I've followed your lead on cloth diaper choices and exclusive breastfeeding tips and I'm also planning to make our own baby food. Thank you so much for this blog. Pretty much a ditto to what Connie just said. :-p

  5. I'm still here too! I'd really miss you, but totally understand the busy feeling. Even a monthly update, or every two weeks? You know I've been following you and cheering you on for a long time, I'd really hate to lose touch with you, and not know how things are going for you and little #7!!

  7. Funny funny funny! Your boy makes me laugh from wearing his Grammy's glasses AND "hair" to blowing belly bubbles to walking on the dreadmill! How adorable is he?! I hope you continue with this blog, at least, until you have to cross out toddler and put young man! IS THAT ASKING TOO MUCH?! lol By the way, you erased the word "rest" from your vocabulary when you became pregnant...for ALL of eternity! Congrats to you and Kerry! Deep breaths and lots of prayers will carry you through, I promise! Luv you all-Aunt Kook :)

  11. Girlfriend, you better keep your blog going...as you can tell by mine, it is hard to keep up but even occasional updates are awesome:) I told you "just wait" until he becomes totally mobile.....it's crazy and if you have one that gets into EVERYTHING, it's even crazier. Cameron is 20 months old and the getting into everything has only gotten worse and worse...LOL BUT they are also so much fun....just wait until he starts talking a lot and can actually communicate with you that way.....it's the best:)

As for trying to keep up with everything....IMPOSSIBLE. I was given the best advise when someone told me "they are only young once, forget about the house work". My house hasn't stayed clean since I had Brayden. Supermom DOES NOT EXIST. I can't imagine being a two career household....I'm with the boys all day long and all evening until they go to bed and there is NO WAY I have time to clean house & do laundry during the day. Don't stress yourself, just enjoy that cutie.

  12. I hope you do keep blogging. My SIL has a different sort of blog in which she reports frequent, short vignettes of cute things her kids say and do. Her only readers are close friends and family, I think, but it works for us. I intend to transition to something like that as C gets older. Speaking of which, sorry to hear it gets busier when they start walking. Guess I should have figured.... A colleague told me today that it just keeps getting busier (hers are teenagers!). Guess we knew what we were getting ourselves into....

  13. I know how hard it is to keep up with the blogging, but I do hope you will. I love reading your updates, and I love the pictures and videos too. In this post, the photo of Tyler in the weeds is just lovely. And I love the video of him blowing zerberts on your belly - that is precious.
