39 Weeks

Yep, I'm still pregnant!!!  I'm trying to enjoy every last second of it as I fully realize that without a miracle, I may never get to experience this again.  The count down is on, SEVEN days till my due date, holy cow!!!  As of today, I'm not having any signs whatsoever that he's ready for departure and that's a good thing as I need him to wait till after Fri so my mom can make it to the birth of her grambaby.

My dad and step-mom are here and will be staying with us till sometime after the baby's birth.  Enjoying their company and looking forward to having the help as I charter the unknown territory of a newborn.  It hasn't quite hit me yet that there will be a baby in this house, wowser, very surreal!

My hospital bag is almost packed.  Still need to install the car seat.  The anticipation and the unknown has me on pins and needles.  It could happen tonight, or 3 weeks from now.  I'm excited and nervous all at the same time.  Every night I go to bed wondering, will tomorrow be the day?  What kind of birth experience will this little guy pick for me?  Ya know because he's running the show!  Will I be able to handle the pain without meds?  Exactly HOW bad will it be?  Then those thoughts of OMGosh, what's in this big belly has to fit out this little exit?  Yikes!  I guess I will have all these answers soon enough!

This week's 41" belly:

Still dealing with the swelling but getting used to it, so it's not as bad.  Feeling really good, except when little man punches my cervix.  He's very active and my belly is morphing all over the place.  I will miss this part the most.

We're getting really close on his name, but will probably wait till we meet him to make our final decision.  Will let you know as soon as we know.

Our rocker-glider came in, love it!  We just finished the nursery minus putting his name on the wall.  I'm too exhausted to post pics now but promise I will tomorrow.

Until then, nighty night!

  2. You're doing so well and I can't believe you're down to SINGLE DIGITS!!! How exciting!

I remember feeling the same as you...never been through it before and wondering how it will be. It's the unknown but you have done everything you can to prepare for it. Just know that you will get through it (the labour) and at the end, the most wonderful thing happens and you get to met your son! I am going to stalk your blog as I am so excited for you and Kerry!

I'm just dying to know what you choose for a name but I won't pry...when you're ready!

  4. So exciting!!! I am really so excited for you. This is the most amazing thing. And, having a newborn in the house and breastfeeding and crying and everything is just incredible. I know you are probably uncomfortable but just like you said, enjoy every second of it if you can...you will look back on this with such fondness!!!

BTW...breastfeeding was pretty hard in the beginning..make sure you have Lansinoh in the house (the name brand stuff - oddly, there is a difference). It gets much much better and eventually becomes wonderful. I know for some, it is not so bad in the beginning but it was hard for me...but so rewarding in the end. I can't wait to hear your good news and the name and see the pics!!!!!!

  5. Now that's a belly!! Remember way back when when it was square? Remember when you would look at your belly and wonder if you were showing yet? You've come a long way, baby!!

On a side note, I was watching a Seinfeld rerun the other night, and George was saying that "Seven" was his ideal baby name, and this other, currently very pregnant couple were going to steal his name for their baby. I had totally forgotten this episode, but it immediately made me laugh and think of you! Maybe it could be a middle name...:)

  7. I can't wait. I'm so excited for you! At times this whole thing has felt like it's gone so excruciatingly slowly, but when I think back to going through our cycles, it seems like it was just yesterday! I can't wait to see pics of the little guy! Congrats on getting so far! And kudos to 7 for facing the right direction! Tell him to tell C to get her butt in the air!

  8. Thanks, 7! C's moving a LOT right now, so maybe she listened to him. Or it could have been the brownie....

  10. Isn't it amazing how much one's belly can stretch? That always amazed me when I was pregnant...thinking "just how far can this thing stretch"???

Can't wait to see the nursery all done.

I think every women has your same exact thoughts at the end of their pregnancy...wondering "when is it going to happen", "how is it going to happen", etc.....watching for every little "possible sign of labor"....LOL I really didn't have anything to "warn" me that I was going into labor with Brayden...I just woke up in the wee hours of the morning in full blown hard labor with regular contractions about 8-10 minutes apart.

Can't wait to see pics of this little man!
